Elspeth Latimer is an associate tutor on the prestigious University of East Anglia MA in Creative Writing Crime Fiction, and also the author of Writing the Detectives, an academic study of the protagonist in the contemporary crime fiction series, published by Cambridge University Press. The Lost Detective has been shortlisted for the prestigious Bath Novel award in 2023.
Emma Styles writes Australian noir about young women taking on the patriarchy. She has an MA in crime fiction from the University of East Anglia the Shark is her second thriller, following No Country for Girls. Emma grew up near the beach on Whadjuk Noongar Country in Perth, Western Australia and now lives on the south coast of the UK. She’s worked as a veterinarian in country and coastal Australia and the UK, and spent her teens and twenties learning to ski, snowboard, ride horses and motorcycles, and fly small aeroplanes. She loves a road trip and once sat out a cyclone on the north west coast of WA in a LandCruiser Troop Carrier.
Bridget Walsh has a PhD in Victorian domestic murder and an obsessive interest in the weirder elements of nineteenth-century life. The Spirit Guide is her third novel in a series of mysteries set in a down-at-heel Victorian Music Hall. She lives in Norwich with her husband and two dogs, the latter of whom provided names for two nefarious characters in The Tumbling Girl, her first book!
